American University of Puerto Rico Institute of Homeland Security

American University Institute of Homeland Security has been established to provide training and education in Homeland Security and Public Safety for government officials as well as the private sector. The collaboration between both sectors is crucial in protecting the critical infrastructure of finance, telecommunications, agriculture, health care and the chemical and pharmaceutical industries in the event of terrorism or natural disasters.

Seminars begin on February 24 through May 13, 2006

1. The Structure of National Security Decisions
a. Duration: one (1) session

2. Strategic Management of the Homeland Security Enterprise
a. Duration: one (1) session
• Friday, March 17 and Saturday March 18

3. Risk Assessment and Management in National Security
a. Duration: one (1) session
• Friday, April 7 and Saturday, April 8

4. Terrorism: WMD Vulnerability Analysis of Biological Weapons
a. Duration: one (1) session
• Friday, May 12 and Saturday, May 13


Seminars will be offered in English.
Computer Literacy recommended.
A Certificate of Participation will be granted to those that complete the four seminar sequence.

Cost per Seminar: $200.00


Friday hours (4:00 pm to 8:00 pm)
Saturday hours (8:00 am to 5:00 pm)
